On November 21, 2025, a unique jazz concert took place in society De Witte in The Hague. The tenor saxophonists Stan van de Wetering and Floriaan Wempe, accompanied by pianist Jasper Soffers, bassist Hans Mantel and drummer Gijs Dijkhuizen, played a varied program on that occasion. Well-known songs such as “Moonlight in Vermont”, “Robin’s Nest” and “Poor butterfly”, “Save your love for me” got a new, energetic performance that has now been recorded on a CD: The Tenor Team – live at “De Witte”.
The rich, musical tradition of tenor teams that once originated in America is given a new dimension by this concert – and now by the live album released on O.A.P. Records.
The craftsmanship, enthusiasm and interplay ensure a balanced and exciting performance of a total of eight compositions: from uptempo to swing.
